Ok, so I have a yellow top group 34 up front right now in my suv. I am upgrading my stereo system and will be running a Sundown Saz 3000d a JL audio 500/5 and a JL e4300. I will be using a mechman 275 amp alt and I need help deciding what to do for the batteries. Can I hook up the optima to a xs power d3100 and expect to see good results? or a d3400 up front to a xs power d3100 in the back. Is it alright to hook up batteries that are of different classes? I can't fit a 31 series up front but it looks like a good battery for the back. Last but not least I have seen good deals on a optima yellow top d31t. Would that be a good option to hook up to the optima I have now? Would it be sufficient to power my system in your opinion? It would be cheaper for me to grab the one d31t for the back but I wouldn't bother if it ain't gonna get the job done. I appreciate any help guys thanks.

From my consumer opinion :

High power car audio loads reduce battery charge quickly. A high ouput alternator can recharge batteries. I have been told by numerous people that Optima batteries do not accept a charge as fast as other manufacturers such as xs power and kinetik.

You never want to run two manufacturer types of batteries. Always go with same manufacturer battery. Remember a bigger starting battery could drain your secondary battery or vice versa. Good rule of thumb is to buy the biggest batteries (same manufacturer) you can fit/afford.

Hopefully somebody with more technical knowledge will chime in.
