possibly, but the subs are really awesome i'm very happy with them. I just don't want to burn up the amp and didn't realize i was only pushing 720W wired at 2ohm.

the subs are around 429.99 each but i won a contest and ended up getting the pair for around 200 bucks. i'm very happy with the amp and the subs i am just making sure i'm not going to harm anything running the amp wide open if the subs can handle it, which it appears now that they can.

The CDT Golds take a lot of power. They are a small box sub and are designed primarily for sealed enclosures. The actually get a lot louder than most people would think and play very low. The 1200 is definitely not enough power. Even in a ported setup.

can we see pics of what you currently have? There is no telling what kind of power your seeing with out getting a clamp and dmm on there. Because an amp is wired at 2ohm doesnt automatically mean your getting the amps rated power at 2ohm, you need to figure out your imp rise, and your power output will change per freq and per volume notch example at 34hz on volume 20 isnt going to be the same as 42hz on volume 5 its varient.

installed in a nissan titan, up firing under rear seat. factory battery and factory alternator and i haven't done the big 3 yet. i'll see if i can borrow a clamp meter to get some amperage with voltage drops. lights are barely dimming inside the truck though.

Am I reading that right? You have a box with up firing subs, so they are firing up right into the seats?

Final load is prob around 3 ohms. I recommend a grounding kit for sure in the Titan and get rid of any distribution blocks on the power and ground. I've done at least a dozen Titan installs and upfiring seems to be more effective than down firing.

Yes. There is not much you can do under the seat in a Titan. What sucks about his install is he has good products with shitty results.

I have done a seat lift, so my seat is about 1.5" to 3" above the subs. There is no contact even at full volume. There was, until the seat raise

I'll remove my ground distro block. I have 1/0ga from the truck frame through the floor to a ground distro, and then 4ga to the sax-1200d. I'll trim down the 1/0ga and run it directly to the amp. I'll also buy a grounding kit from tech12volts and get that done. I really have no problems with the system, just concerned that i'm running everything too high. I know its never recommended and as I can see from the replies in my thread I have a chance of burning up the amp.

I would go with a saz 2000 or saz2500, then run the gain low and dial in the output power to the subs to reach at least their rms, an 0scope works best and there are plenty of tutorials around forums to aid in this process as well. Some people are going to say thats way to much power, but its better to have plenty overhead then cranking the gains clipping the signal by far. Its really up to the owner to make things work properly to prevent misuse of the product. Because an amps says 2500@1ohm does not mean your going to get 2500@1ohm hints the gain on an amp everything plays a factor voltage, hu volume, gains!

That would work as well, but people are going to say dont run amps strapped daily and dont run them below 1ohm if you dont know what your doing on and on. The 2500 takes up the least amount of space, will be tons of power on hand an he can keep it clean!!

I'd prefer the 2500 as well or any SAZ for that matter. But a 20" amp in a Titan is a tight fit. Two smaller amps is actually easier to fit and much less expensive.

I am going to try to upgrade to the 1500 and leave it at that. I backed everything down to 75% today and I lost a lot of thump. I think it just isn't enough amp for what I need. I also couldn't remove my ground block because I forgot I had a capacitor grounded to it also. I don't think theres a power issue though. Like I said, it sounds great as long as I have the amp maxxed out but if I lower it, it just feels like I lose too much kick to the subs.

A saz2000 would be a solid choice as well, I dont know that your going to get where you want to be with adding a rated 300more watts! Jacob does trade in on stuff so trade the 1200 in for the 2000 and pay the difference that would be my choice in your situation.

I'm going to try and go to the 2500, jacob doesn't have the 2000 anymore he says. I also am looking at closing off the ports and maybe trying to go with a sealed box instead of ported as well. I'll keep you updated. It really thumps when everything is max so hopefully I can get a larger amp and that solves th eproblems thanks for all the suggestions.

Sealed enclosure will require more power. Anything over .5cuft sealed may sound a bit boomy with those subs.
