2003 Dodge Durango Build

Recommended Posts

I am finally starting my new build on my Dodge Durango. I almost have all the equipment in. Just waiting on the new battery and some wire.

The ride:

The wheels: Anella Diamond II Suv 22"

My vehicle has a third row (I never use it) which I will be removing to create a false floor for battery and wire storage.

Third row removed:

There is a storage place in the back of the vehicle where my amps can fit perfectly into:

Amps:

MB Quart DSC 1500.1

Picture013.jpg

MB Quart DSC 480.4 running Diamond D6 components right now until I purchase some Bravox components

These amps have always worked well for me. They look nice next to each other because they are in the same case and are the same size.

I am doing a single sub install and thought I would get the 2010 Icon. Thanks SSA for the awesome deal.

12" 2010 Icon D2 with aluminum coils:

That is it for now I will post more pics as the build goes on.

For all that racing I do with it. :roflmao:

I was able to get a good deal on them and I thought they would look nice behind the big wheels.

Thanks everyone.

Since I am building the box this weekend I would love some input. I am thinking sub up, port to the drivers side. This is for a 12" icon with aluminum coils. The box would be 2.5 cubic feet. The port would be 12" tall x 3" wide and 36" long. This gives me tuning at about 30-31hz.

The setups I had before were sub up port back. But they were also close to the tailgate. This box will be behind my 2nd row and about 2 feet away from the tailgate.

Amps installed and testing. I am giving the sub roughly 1300wrms.

im gonna put a fosgate the punch 12 on the right side where the dip is in the side panel of my durango. im gonna cut it away. the box will be solid mdf. i go ice fishing and would like to not have to move stuff or worry about anything hitting anything and whatnot.

Nice work. Tell us how you like the Icon. :)

The Icon really blows me away on how it performs. The accuracy of this driver is amazing and it kills the lows. I don't think I have heard a better driver in the (or near the) price range.

:fing34::fing34: Two thumbs waaaaaayy up for SSA.

It definitely does more than I expected. I have had a few different setups in the Durango. This is definitely the best sounding setup and the bass output is very nice. :woot:

The only thing I may change is sub and port location. I will build a few different boxes to see which sound the best.

Hey, nice !

How do you like it ?

I love it.
