for daily usage I might choose the second one due to the lower tuning

What if I did the 1st enclosure with same net volume and same port and just bolted on a sheet of mdf .75 same lenght and width for daily?

you can try it, but I think the XS is a pretty versital sub, so I think it will do well in either box, just the tuning is up to your preference
