Now THAT is a good T/S parameter list.

The goal was to come up with the best possible sounding sub under $300. While using the least amount of power as possible. You will see this for sale in stores between $260-$280. And although the thermal rating is high it only needs about 250 watts to reach its average xmax and 300 to 400 watts to reach its peak xmax of 24mm.

The main advantage besides the fact the sub sounds amazing, is the consumer can possibly spend half as much money on their power supply when compared to anything else on the market that has comparable output levels as the Genesis.

oh....just in case i didn't mention it, the Genesis is an xbl^2 sub.

So what is the competitive advantage of this driver over, say, an Exodus Shiva-X2?

Shorting rings in the motor? If so, what kind and where?

The exodus appears to look the same, is about $42 cheaper but looks like it is on sale for the fall, and has 1.14 more excursion

however its EBP is 47.33 which means it is geared more towards sealed, the Genesis' EBP is 66 which makes it more ported friendly

The Genesis has a 18mm aluminium shortening ring between the washers

The Genesis has a stronger 6 spoke basket, but I doubt the 12 spoke on the exodus has any problems, I specifically did not want that basket b/c other companies have had problems with them in the past.

The genesis has a stronger motor with a qes .407 versus a qes of .45 of the Exodus

The genesis has a lighter moving mass of 138 grams versus 206 grams of the Exodus

Which makes the genesis a more efficient subwoofer

The Exodus has a Pmax of 1000w the Genesis a Pmax of 2964w, almost 3 times the thermal rating. They don't list a rms rating but given it has a heavier moving mass and weaker motor and tighter suspension I would assume it would need more rms power to achieve xmax.

The specs should be what's listing in my section. I recieved full Klippel analysis from Dan when I recieved the sample from him. But I want to be 100 percent sure before I start the presale. The 12 will start at $195 which includes shipping, plus discounts for multiple driver purchases. The 15 will be about $20 more.
