Can equalizer in car cd receiver go bad?

Hi,can someone tell me if equalization can go bad in car cd receiver.

I no longer have any crisp highs and midrange.I checked all my

connections and even went and purchased new jbl 6x9 and still no

highs.Could this be my stereo,thanks!

All of sudden you noticed a change in sound? Did you reset your head unit?

Sounds like you are running your 6x9's off of your head unit. Have you tuned as best as you can with the head unit's settings?

What head unit are you using?
