The triple joint is glued on both sides. I think you should be ok. Hopefully Nick or Scott will see this and respond.

I would have to agree, What are your box specs, what's your amplifier, what is your SSF level set at?

Brand new from FI

Just shipped in yesterday.

It's been free-air on 100 watts at 30hz for slight break-in

I didn't see much excursion over half a inch

Perfectly normal..

How the spiders and everything set up on it it does not always coat 100% of the outside, it is done to the best of the ability without coating the inner roll of the spider pack..because if you do that it will fatigue the spiders and crack.

There is almost of inch of glue under the dustcap. The only reason there is even glue put there is to set the cone initially and for cosmetic reasons. Serves no purpose other then that.

Alright.

Set on the sub at 39 x 31.5 x 17 = 10 cubes

displacement is 9.3 cubes with a 5x17 port

tuned to 27hz..

That's highly doubtful that that would be the manufacturers fault. They wouldn't ship out a crap box. Whatever shipping company shipped it is careless.

It's not a car.. you don't have to break it in. You can play it at full volume all day and it won't matter.

Breaking in subs for the most part is a myth, yes Fs will drop slightly, but not much. :sleepwerd4:
