Avalanche 18 LLT build

Recommended Posts

I've got an aa avalanche 18 d2 that was reconed by PSI. A behringer ep2500, behringer feedback destroyer pro, and Sampson s convert. I finalized my build plan. The box will be 24" deep, 22" tall, and 96" wide. Sub will have a double baffle and be mounted in the center front of the box. With dual slot ports. One on each side. It will be under my screen firing at the audience. It'll be 21.5 cu ft net tuned to 15 hz. With 92 sq in of port area. I'll post up a sketch of my floor plan and sketchup pics of the box and bracing.

Hows the output going to be firing towards the audience vs down firing? I just ask because I thought downfiring and using the floor to unload on works best for HT. sketchup model looks awesome, especially all the bracing :P

I've got a set of wharfedale zaldek towers. They sound pretty good and will get used untill i can afford to build a set.

I would probably get more output that way. This isn't the optimal location for the sub. But it was the best compromise to fit with everything else. And even not being optimally placed it should still be more than I need.

The chimney is cracked. It was like that when I bought the house. So it's been sealed up for a few years. I was going to put in a gas insert, and Sheetrock over the ugly brick and wood paneling. And then I decided to go a little crazy with the home theater instead.
