Midbass on a Monoblock?

As the title reads: Can a pair of midbass speakers be used on a monoblock amp? I understand they would not be in stereo mode, but how much will/will not affect the 80/90 to 250hz range. Has anyone tried this or am I just pissin in the wind? Asking questions as I plan a new front stage to go with my plans for a wall setup. Thanks

If the crossovers on the amp will allow for it I don't see why not.

The content that you send to them would be in stereo. You could do it, but it wouldn't sound ideal. And if you're looking to install actual midbass drivers, you're probably looking for ideal sound.

I assume you are asking if driving the left and right mid bass speakers off the same mono amp would sound o.k. in the 250-90 hertz region.

If you are, are you looking for sound quality or just some punch to help blend the wall in with the front stage?

My assumption so far from the posts is that it will function but not have a very good quality of sound?? Punch is allways wanted, but if I go this far I think my efforts would be rewarded if it had a reasonable level of sound quality.

I don't know what amp you were going to use? What about two mono amps , one for each side.

You might be able to get away with a class D.

Thanks for the ideas and the additional option. Kind of thought this would be the responce. I could see if I didn't care about it sounding good I'd just do it, but that is I have 3 old-school MTX-2300's that I can use for the front stage, but kind of don't want to because they are old like me. May bite the bullet as I get deeper in the build and pick up new amplifiers for the front stage.

I have been using these for a while (8-10yrs), you are correct they are very consistant, always worked and never had a problem. Lots of power as well. Guess I should just use them. I actually have the bridges that go between them to make them look like one amp (never took them out the boxes) LOL!
