get me a sub and amp

Recommended Posts

I want to get something like a single 12 or 10 and a 500 watt rms amp. Been looking at the store on here and cant seem to match anything. Ive always had jl, and had a 12 w6v2 with the 500 watt slash amp and liked it. I want to see if there is a cheaper alternative (there has to be) i like the look of the sundown amps, but 1200 watts is the smallest, yikes. any ideas. I was thinkning maybe the dual 10 setup they have in the store. I think its 2 10" dcons or something with the 125.2 amp. Any other ideas. Not looking for tons of bass, just some smooth low end to put in the car.

Welcome !

All the Sundown amps ratings are for a 1 ohm load, but if you run the saz 1500,for example, at 2 ohms it will give you 800 watts !...(lol)

The Dcon combo is good. But I'd rather use the 125.2 amp on the front speakers and a 1000 watts amp on the subs : 2 dcons at 2 ohms will get about 500-600 watts from a Sundown sax 1200. That would be a sick setup !

A single Icon on the same amp should sound sooo good too (my choice) ! You can see the recommanded enclosures in the tech center here.

Do you have enough room in your trunk for what you want ? It's the first thing to look out.IMO

yeah, I just dont want to get into electrical upgrades etc. Thats a good option though. Never had any ssa audio stuff. How would the dcons or Icon match up with the jl line?

imho, better quality, great customer service, and cheaper. The dcon and icon drivers are great, I personally owned a couple icons and loved them. They were the best sounding drivers I've ever listened to.

For the sound/output/money/current draw, the pair of Dcon's on the SAX-125.2 is hard to beat. The 125.2 has plenty of power for the Dcon's and they have a proven record of happy customers. :)

It really all depends on your budget and goals.

I don't understand why you would want 2 10's on lower power.

Instead of a nice 12 inch sub on more power. ;)

Like the SA12 on the 1200 at 2 ohms.

Or a Fi Q on same amp, or a Dcon or the Ascendant audio chaos. ;)
