Using 4ohm 2ohm speakers on 4 channel amp

Can you hook up a set of 2ohm speakers on the front channels and 4ohm set on the rear channels of a four channel amp?

On a very select few amps you can, but 99.9% of them you can't. Guessing based on what you might have I'd say no way in hell

I have a kicker 650.4 and I have a set of 4ohm 6.5 inch infinity speakers I want to put in the front doors and a set of 20hm 5.25 inch infinity speakers I would like to put in the back doors. Is this not possible?

The reason I want to do this is because I already have all this equipment and would be better than what I currently have installed.

Thanks 98GMC for the advice after reading your comment I had no idea what you meant by the font stage so I did some research and found out what you were talking about and sounds like a good idea Im going to get rid of all the equipment and spend the money on a nicer set of speakers and amp. Do you have any advice on an amp and set of 6.5 inch speakers around $600 to $700?

I think we all made the mistake of thinking the op was going to run 4 ohm and 2 ohm together as in a parallel connection. (Or at least I was).

You are right that there are 4 channel amplifiers that are stable to 2 ohms per channel stereo and bridgeable. Sundown being one of them.

Actually the one that came to mind was the Alto full range Class D amps. I seem to recall some of the Nakamichis being only 4 ohm stable, also.
