36 hz in port and 48 hz in cabin?

Metered with SPL-LAB same song and I got a reading of 160.1 @36 hz in the port and 146 @48 hz in the cabin. Does this sound right for the difference in frequency readings? Or is the deeper bass getting trapped in the trunk? Let me know what you guys think, thanks.

Or the recording has different levels at different frequencies.

I get the higher db reading. I was just wondering about the differences in hz reading but should I get the same hz reading port and cabin if I use a test tone?

No. It'll have something to do with the way the vehicle reacts/resonates with the output of the sub/box. I'm just not qualified to make scientific statements.

what's the song?

When playing a tone, the meter can only read one note as that will be the peak frequency...

Now, in a song, with multiple frequencies, whichever is the loudest in the cabin, that is the peak in the car.

You will not ever see yourself playing a 40hz tone and the meter read something like 48hz... There is no 48hz material in the tone.

Now, when playing a sweep, the meter will pickup the loudest note out of the whole sweep.. same thing with a song.

The port is most active right at the tuning freq. Almost all the output from the system will be coming form the port at that freq. Box is tuned to right around 36hz, yes?
