Hey guys.

So I am going to be running 2 Crunch GP3000D's here in the near future and I am wondering what the benefit of strapping the amps vs. running one amp to a pair of subs?

My subs are/will be dual 1 ohm coils so I can wire each sub to 2ohm and let the amp take it to a 1 ohm final load or I can strap the amps and wire all the subs to 2ohm final load.

IMO, It would be easier to wire the subs to 2ohm and then run wire from 2 subs in to one amp and repeat for the other subs and amp.

Since I have never strapped amps, I am curious what the benefit would be and would it be worth the extra work to try and multiple wires to the sub terminals.

advantage : only one amp to set (the master), one gain and one filter , so you should have the same signal through both woofers.

Strapping will not let you run your amps to a final load of 1 ohms. From what I understand !

the only thing you need to add is a single rca cable to link the 2 amps.

Yes, if i strap The final load has to be 2ohm. Having one gain is nice.

Here is what i am getting at

If I do not strap, I can wire each sub like so, and run each sub into the amp to get a final load of 1 ohm. x's 2

If i do strap, the wiring gets more creative.

If you run each amp seperate at a 1 ohm load, you will have to gain match the 2 amps with a dmm to get balanced output to all woofers.

If you run them strapped, you have one gain, one lpf, and one ssf to set as stated above.

Personally I would strap.

This is an example of strapping !! 2 saz 1000 on the right, and 2 on the left.

A little extreme don't you think ?!!

Yeah, I think I will strap them.

After reading this and using the idea of the bolts, using heavy gauge wire for multiple subs wont be much trouble.

Strapped
