RL-p not impactfull enough

I just finish installing my RL-p today and i found the subs doesn't hit that hard and solid, it goes low but, i feed it with 1000rms.

Does the inverted installation has anything to do with this??

I used to put the sub in a normal way but in a larger box, it hit harder and more solid but a lot peaky. The current box has around 1.3cuft net (with the magnet outside)

inverted shouldn't affect anything. i've read that when u invertert, that u wire in reverse polarity. (i have also read it doesn't matter). so first thing i'd suggest, is wire it up using reverse polarity (if u already haven't) and see if that helps.

second thing, is try going even a touch smaller with box size. first i'd use drop the sub in normal (if u have the depth). that'll take the net volume down to just over 1 cube. if u like that sound there, then u know u have the right enclosure for u.

if u still want to go inverted, just slug the box (2x4's, scrap mdf, whatever u can attach inside the box) to take up the extra .18ft^3.

I've tried reversing the polarity and doesn't make big difference, if any. I try to mount the sub normally but the box doesn't have the depth. Seriously i've heard this sub hit much2x harder in a smaller box (0.8) and bigger box (1.5) in a normal mounting position despite the lack of low freq extension and peaky response respectively. The new box has just the right SQ for me but lack the punchiness and tightness both box has provide.

Does the motor structure in RL-p prohibit for inverted mounting?? I'm really puzzled.

Inverted mounting has no effect on output (well, besides a minute loss of cone area). I think this has more to do with subwoofer placement within the vehicle, and phase. Normally, inverting will make little to no difference with respect to phase, but, all depends on the vehicle and install location.

Yea I can't think of any reason why the inverted setup would offer significantly

less output over the traditional mount, other than noise cancellation issues.

I'm going to swing the box the other way around, i have a feeling that the sound wave doesn't allow to enter the cabin in a good manner due to the width and height of the box. Thanks for all the replies

Play around with the box in different locations and firing directions. It's free ... and if it doesn't work, you can go from there.
