Calloused ear drums..

Recommended Posts

Howdy folks!

My name is Ken, and I'm from Ada, Michigan. At 41 I've seen and heard alot in car audio. I spent a few years installing in local shops and in my garage. My first system consisted of: a Hitachi 321AR tape deck. a Concord CA30-4 amp, a pair of Polk 6x9's in the rear deck, and a pair of Bazooka 6 1/2" Bass Tubes in the trunk. That stuff was transported in a '77 Chrysler Cordoba (I was 18..).

These days, I roll around in a 2006 KIA Spectra. I'm constantly experimenting with my gear, trying new ideas and components. Drives my wife up a wall. I currently have an older Panasonic CD player (5 volt outs), an OLD Ultimate Sound US2125 pushing my MB Quart 6 1/2" separates up front (crossovers in the glovebox..), I just recieved a Cadence ZRS7000d amp, and I'm sending my Cadence WB15-4 sub to fixmyspeaker dot com for a rebuild (although I'm open to subwoofer suggestions from you guys..).

As I get older, and do more with my car, I enjoy my system more every day. It's my release after work, and I look forward to slapping in a new CD.

I'm looking forward to meeting/talking with you guys.

Ken Chapin

Regrettably ears don't callous they just fail. Sad that it is the only sense that a human has where we are born with the best it will ever be.
