Stopping box vibrations

I purchased an Atrend 12dq dual sealed enclosure, 1.25 ft3 per sub, .75" thick MDF, miter joint and dado groove. supposedly one of the best built prefabs you can get and seems to be true from inspection. Though i plan to get a couple of subs that are optimized for 1.25 sealed, probably w6.2's. I was testing it out with a W3v3 JL sub and i noticed....just like every other sub box i have ever used or built, when hand placed on box, i can feel some vibration.

In the past, i used to coat the interior with fiberglass, truck bed liner..etc, whatever i could think of that would lessen it, but i'm not sure if it really helps the sub or not...i never really did a side by side comparison. I just wanted to know before i go spending time and money tinkering with a good box, how detrimental is some vibration to the sound of the sub?

IF i were to put some, say Dynomat inside the box, would the sub theoretically be louder, sound better? or is all this a waste of time.

Bracing would be a better idea than deadner imo. If you can, put some a dowel rods in there for support. But honestly I don't really see it being that big of a deal.

how detrimental is some vibration to the sound of the sub?

vibration is only bad if you can hear it. like your license plate, trunk lid, change in your ashtray, or other annoyances. feeling vibrations on the the box is perfectly fine. as long as you have it secured so it doesnt move around youll be fine.

now the panels of the box flexing can be detrimental. i dont think that box is big enough to have to worry about massive flex but you could brace it if it helps you sleep at night.

No its not bad at all..like just typical vibration you feel on any box. I'm reffering to what they call "resonance"? i think.

i read that you should reduce resonance of your box as much as possible....i just wondered if dynomat inside the enclosure would have any impact on sound.

but yeah obviously dynomatting my vehicle would help too but it doesnt rattle anyway.

Panel flex = peakiness in response first and foremost. It's not good.

Vibration damper (like Dynamat) inside the box will not help at all, at least not enough to be worth doing. The resonant frequency of the box should be well above the frequencies produced by the sub(s) inside. What you are feeling is either distortion from the pressure changes in the box, in which case bracing is what you need, or resonance from overtones or other speakers in the vehicle. I'd be very surprise if it is a problem if the vibration or movement is barely detectable.

It's called ringing and there is an easy fix for it, just go to an chain store that sells Dacron batting in 1" thickness and line a couple of the walls with it and that will stop the box from making any noise.

I don't know if you read the whole thread but it was not ringing. It was panel vibrations, than can be solved by simple bracing.

That product will do absolutely nothing for vibrations.

Two Allthread rods placed through the top and the sides of the box and tightened with washer's and nuts on the inside and outside of the box should do the trick.
