es12dv.2 obliterated

Recommended Posts

I've been running 2 of the es12dv.2's off of a Memphis mc1000d. I put in "Late Night Tip". Subs went to flexing. Body panels and windows went to flexing. One of the subs went pop, pop, pop, pop, and quit. Never a burnt smell. Upon further inspection (after removing the sub), the cone was separated from the spider. You could see what I think was the voice coil through the vents on the side. It was in pieces with wires hanging around inside it. Does that sound like maybe it played to loud and low and unloaded? Should I turn my sub-sonic filter up a little more? I'll send it off and get it fixed, makes some adjustments and try it again. I dug the flexing of my Xterra.
