well i got my sub in today for my little mini build im doing and now i need to decide what amp i should go with to power it. the sub is a Fi SSD 12 D1 with BP cooling. I was thinking of running around 900-1000 rms to it at 2 ohms. So the question is what amp would you guys think would be good for this? The budget on this isn't much. probably around 200-225. thanks

When you bought the sub you should have got the D2 because 1. Wiring to 1 ohm. 2 . 1 ohm amps are cheaper.

Your best bet in amps would be a kicker 750.1 or some other 2 ohm stable amp.

Your not gonna get very far with just 200 $ budget look in F/S section for amps/

i bought the sub used so i couldnt of really chose between d1 or d2. i would of went with d2 if i would of bought it new thought. i feel like i got a decent deal on the subs so its not going to bother me all that much. the guy i bought it from also has a kicker 750.1 that he was using to power it. i was thinking about picking that up, but its only 750 watts at 2ohm. thats a little below what i was looking to get, but would i really be able to tell the difference between 750 watts and 900 watts just by ear?

Definitely not. That would be about .5 decibel on the meter.

X2 and most kicker amps are underrated so out puts more power. My bros out putted 946 rms.

There are a lot of amps out there, if you dont plan on upgrading then go with the Kicker amp since it does its power at 2 ohms. Otherwise you will have to buy a more expensive amp that does most of its power at 1 ohm but the power you need at 2 ohms, this will be more costly but it gives you the advantage of upgrading you substage in the future and not worry about having to upgrade the amp.
