Help in a Begginer system

Recommended Posts

Hello everyone...

i have been guided to this place by Bass Outlaw

Am new to the Car audio world..and i would like to learn more..

as a start am driving a 2005 corolla xli , the stock Head Unit got casset and a CD player.. hooked with 4 speakers (stock)

i would like to increase the Clarity of the Sound, and Also get some Moderate Bass...

My budget is only $130..

i would like to know what to get with this amount of money..

and a general idea about how to run the setup..

thanks in Advance

Not really much you can do w/ $130 ... If you REALLY need to do something, I'd say upgrading your speakers has the most potential for making a difference.

Personally, I would save up my money until I had at least a few hundred to put into it.

Does your stock HU have pre-outs ?

head unit preouts are a way to provide signal from the head unit to an amplifier via rcas. they are called preout because the signal is sent without any head unit amplification to provide a signal with as little distortion as possibe.

also, for $130, i second jmac's recommendation of just upgrading your factory speakers to something better. with some smart shopping, $130 should allow you to replace both front and rear with at least a decent set of coaxils.

wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee :slayer:

I would personally hold onto that $130, save up a more scratch, and pick up some good components for up front, and an amp to power them.

on a side note I want to say welcome to the site, also if anyone knows if the NEXT dealer has anything left he might be able to nab a few things,

but I agree with everyone else, you need to save some more,

believe me when I say it costs less to do it right the first time

Think about How much are you willing to save then spend? And then how long would it take you to get there/how long are you willing to wait? Probably more than $200 though.

I may be able to get you a Cadence amp for a good price but 130$ is a really hard budget to go with. A good set of components will cost you 150$ usually and a good amp atleast 75$ to run them.

I think your best bet is to first, figure out what is easily available to you. It seems to me, with your geographic dilemma, that you are best suited to shop at a local store. Mailorder seems out fo the question. BEing as how you are pretty much restricted to that, go out and do some listening, then you can come back and give us your impressions or ask pertiant questions you may have before buying.

know . 80INCHES u might have gave em one of the best soloutions for building a system.. but yet .. he wont be able to pay for shippin and customs.. he said he will be goin on Wednesday to check around in car audio shops and such.. and he will feed us back...

untill then.. am voting for 2 8 inches from pioneer.. or 4 according to the budget..

and for front stage .. a 2-way set of speakers will do.. or keep the stock speakers as they are ..

OR

keep all stock

buy a cheap amp and a SUB

Yes, the NEXT dealer still has some speakers and amps left. I have 2 sets of NEXT 6.5" components, the shallow mount ones, that I am not using. I would be willing to let them go if you need them. For that matter, I have 2 of the 10" subs too. Can post specs if you need me to.

Guys, let's keep the sales to PMs or classifieds.

Specs are fine, post them at will. The more information available, the better. We just don't need to be spamming (for lack of a better term :D ) the NORMAL threads with sale items.
