find toolmaker and see what wisdom he has to pass on to you. he is a great guy and makes things like this for others as well so he should be able to tell you any thing you want.

why not make a screw with a deeper hole.

I'm with Cheese, add like a dimple to the post that goes into the amp. If you have a slight recess where the screw sinks into it the straight smooth piece will be less likely to fall out of the amp.
