Sub Re-Cone Question.

The Question(s): BP,Basket,and Send in sub are some of the options..

1.Can i get the BP power option if mine didn't originally have it?

2.Basket? do i say yes or no? Not sure what this option means exactly i have the sub is this paying for a new metal basket where the sub sits in?? sorry probably a really newb question but ya..

3.Send in the sub? I want to send it in since i don't know how to re-cone and don't really wanna risk messing it up. but will i be sent a box to send the sub in or do i just send it in?

Hi new to the forums don't know too much about car audio but a fairly good amount. So, my sub stopped working all-together so i pulled out the sub and saw one of the tinsel leads were no longer connected.. This happened once before a good year or 2 ago and i replaced just the 2 that were blown off and left the other 2(which 1 of thoose has no blown). I remember it being a pain replacing before and when i finished it, it had a strange noise on certain songs the way the bass would hit so instead of trying that again i thought i should just do a whole re-cone and have it be like new. Thanks for any help.

Oh also, its a Fi Q 12"

2. Is your basket broken? if not i'd say no.

3. You should of kept the box, there is a Giant sticker on the box saying "keep your box and packing materials" if you send in a heavy woofer through UPS or someone else, it will be broken, the metal slugs may move, the basket may break etc.

I never got a box since i purchased the sub used it was just sent in some box. And the basket looks perfectly fine to me (if it's what i'm thinking it is)

Thanks. although, I've tried that in the past (my subs been fucked for awhile now) But i never got any response although i have sent them multiple messages.. That's why i was hoping someone here could help..

If you don't use a subject or have some gank email like 'imtoosexyformyshirt@your mom is really hot dot com' then i'm not going to get it..

You can do a partial BP option..but we cannot do a full BP on a Q that has already been built and magnetized...

So still no response (9 days) as far as my E-Mail i sent. This is like the 5th no response I've gotten in the last year or so. I love FI and have heard nothing but good things about their customer service but i have yet to experience it. :/ Can anyone here answer all my original questions so i can just order the re-cone and not mess anything up. Thanks.

Okay, first you want a 12" cone, BP option, dustcap color whatever you want. Second, is this a single subwoofer setup and what ohm level is your amp stable to, 1 or 2 ohms? and also will you be sending it in to be reconed? if so select that option.

Never got anything from you...which is..odd..

Order the recone off of the website and select "Yes" to send in sub...then..send in the sub. Please package it properly in a double wall box and wrap the edge of the basket in a pool noodle. (No we do not send you a box, nor do we send you a call tag, it is up to you to send us the woofer and get it to us)

"Yes" to basket is there for people who are wanting to recone their woofers to other sizes, or have broken their basket and need a full rebuild. If you package it properly it should arrive without anything being tore up.

The website automatically charges you for return shipping from us back to you. Please include your receipt from your order in the box as well as a piece of paper with your name, address, phone number, and email address, what it is you are sending in and what you want done to it. We'll then pull your ticket once the speaker has arrived and rebuild it and send it back out to you via UPS.
