Limit on amount of sirens for this alarm?

Recommended Posts

So I just had a Viper r350 put into my vehicle...I want to add additional sirens. I've seen some 120db ones online for as little as $6...

Anyone know if there's a limit to how many I can run off this alarm? I'm thinking 1 in each corner of the vehicle would be nice...

Wire it so that if the alarm is tripped then all your sa's play a 35hz tone for 10 seconds :D

I'm being completely serious too ;)

You can use the alarm system as a trigger, now you just need to figure out how to send a signal for xxx amount of seconds to your amp then shut off.

you would have an extra remote turn on and rca going to amp, alarm triggers a power source sent to amp for turn on, use ysplitter so you can feed your hu signal and new "annoying hertz" signal from some device.

Just gotta work on starting and stopping some device

look and see what the ohm load specs are for the output on the alarm... then check how many ohm the siren is that comes with the alarm... then check the ohm load of the add on sirens you want to use.. its all ohms.. just wire them up like you were using mulitible subs..

i have done it a few times....

but honeslty you dont need 4 sirens..

2 maybe...

2 sirens outside... and 2 piezo tweeters inside would give you better results.

Run the siren output wire from the alarm brain to a relay with a direct power supply (fused of course), and run as many sirens as you want off the relay.

Most alarm outputs can only provide enough current to run one loud siren, has nothing to do with ohms, its all about power draw.

& +1 for piezos in the car. Very loud (140db or so) high frequency sound can actually cause nausea & disorientation, as well as serious ear damage, nothing a couple piezos cant do in a small car.

Too many sirens on the outside will only piss off people, I'd say stick to 2 at max.
