to the sa-8 people

so i am new here just kind of feeling out a system for my daily driver(91 civic hatchback) i want to keep the rear hatch for the most part seeing as i do take my kid in it sometimes and have to randomly carry little stuff back there so i was thinking either 1 of the sa-8's in a t line(really want to build one they look sweet) if i have the room i know they can get to be pretty large or do 2 in a box around 1.5 cubes i will be powering what ever with a planet audio big bang 950 so 650x1 at 2 ohms that should work really well on a single or a pair. keep in mind i am not trying for huge numbers just something cool that make people go wtf 8's no way and be decently loud.

any recomedations on a t line would be great either way i will be building a false floor and machining some cover plates to protect them seeing as i have full machine shop at my disposal and i love polished aluminum one off parts

Not for a single sa 8 but for a pair. Here's a design that works.

A lot of SA-8 owners here. I would go with a simple ported enclosure tuned to 35hz on the pair. It will be loud, sound good and still give you the room. Also it will still give you the "WOW! Those are 8"?"

well i really cant make out the measurements of that how tall is it? maybe shoot me a pm and i can give you my email. i have to do some measuring in the hatch to see what i am working with i would rather build a box that is longer than taller. need to have room for the battery that is back there and my 2 amps and all the other stuff i carry in there full tool set my spare tire really shouldnt carry all that it is a honda they never break down

I would just put two in a 1.2-1.5 cu.ft. box tuned at 32-35 hz. on around 1000w thats going to get really loud and sound great.

is 1.0 @ 32hz too big for a single?

On lower power that would be ok

Well there gona be on a 650 rms amp I figure it will do a easy 500+ clean had the amp laying around for a while I think I may just do a single for now see how she sounds and how the box is gona fit in there. Right now I have a very old vega on a 1.5 box and it takes up to much room its just too tall for what I need

Inside is 8.5" depth so it ends up raising the floor by 10 inches. This fit in the back of my Honda Fit. With a battery and the amps mounted on top. I have tried 4 boxes in different configurations from a single to a tripple configuration. This design is by far the best I've tried out.

No it is not. Just don't hit it with more than say 500. I ran 2 off an SAZ 1500 but you have to be careful they get warm.

That exactly how much i was going to give it, 500 rms @ 4 ohm, since the S8 i am getting is D2.
