Does anybody here own a Daber sub?

Recommended Posts

I'm looking to pick up a 10" for my blazer and two 8"s for a buddy's truck and these seem to fit the bill for our applications, but I can't seem to find any sound reviews from people on here. Has anybody demo'd them or heard them at all? I don't doubt the quality of them as they wouldn't be on SSA if they weren't of the highest quality, but I'm just curious about the SQ, particularly in a small/medium sealed box.

I have a Daber audio 10" in my ford ranger. It is by far the best sounding 10" i have heard, it also gets very loud for a 10 (in terms of loudness i am running 300 watts to it and got metered at 136.8 on a term lab). This is not in a large over sized box either, however it is ported. my truck is a single cab, the box sits behind the seat and there is still enough room to lean the seats back comfortably. I think my overall box size is around 1 cubic feet. If you have anymore questions get ahold of Steve at Daber audio, I am sure he would be more than happy to answer anything you would like to know.

They are based on the Dayton Reference HO which has a long standing reputation for it's good distortion performance and overall sound quality at an affordable price. Steve at Daber has said there are some suspension differences between the HO and the Daber line, but I wouldn't expect the differences to materially affect it's attributes based on the T/S similarities.

So, in short, you shouldn't be disappointed with it's performance They have a good pedigree.

Big E,

If you go to the SSA store, click on the woofers, you will see that there have been reviews left by users. I hope that helps.
