Sorry, I'm looking for an 18" sub that will handle 3-4k daily and still be musical. I want a very very loud ass daily driver but I want to start with a budget amp but eventually run 8k I just don't want to have to keep changing my subs and amps so I would like to buy a sub I can just keep adding power and eventually add a second and keep adding power

ummmm no?

you will save yourself some money if you buy the right amp first, not start with a cheap one that will break. is this your first system? if so i would have a goal much lower than 8k. start with something small to learn from and gain some experience so you dont kill a sub that costs hundreds of dollars, and another hundred for a recone kit. you need to put an electrical budget in this build as well. with that big of numbers going through your head you are getting into a very costly build, which is why i, again, recommend starting slowly.

Have you thought about electrical upgrades? Done the big 3? May want to start a bit smaller and upgrade as you go.

It is going to be very difficult to find a sub woofer that can comfortably handle that level of power and have a decent response curve. Wattage does not mean everything, and if this is for daily, there is no need to run that much power. Consider a higher quality amplifier, and maybe a single Fi BTL sub. In the right enclosure, you will be surprised.

People need to get off this pissing match about wattage. 11vnetybugillion watts does not automatically equal huge output.

I listened to a system with 4000 watts just for the bass(on 2 15" subs), and all I can say is that it's way too much for daily !!!

Unless you have a big car and enough mids & highs to keep up.

Listen to Denim, get a Fi BTL and a better amp, like a Stetsom 2ksomething or a Sundown saz 2000-2500. This will be expensive and loud as f%&! !!

On the cheap there is the Audiopipe 3000 amp.

Get a real custom box, and upgrade your electrical system (big3, 0 ga wire, add batts,...).

If you don't compete, you should not need more. A BTL is enough to destroy your car. suicide-santa.gif

I, too, never understood that logic.

"Yeah, I hit 167 ultra mega dee-beez and yet my system is totally geared toward sound quality". Yeah, let's see the front stage that can keep up with that... "Oh, my stock fronts do just fine off the HU" :suicide-santa:

Just to clarify, I was not saying don't get Jons NS, was just using the BTL as an example, Jon's NS can be swapped into my post with no change.

Take a look into what everyone is saying and do you have anymore goals besides I want two subs that can take 3-4000 watts a piece. If that is the case then look into the: Sundown Nightshades (Nightshades v.2 will be out within the next few weeks), Fi BTL, AA Mayhem, IA Wardens or AA SMD's just to name a few.

Do some reading and searching on this forum as well since there is a lot of information that may answer the questions you have such as this one (by the way there is no best 3000 watt sub if that was the case there would only be one of them). This is your system and you can do it how you want just make sure you do it right, make sure you have a well-constructed enclosure, wiring on par, electrical to back it up and sense on how to run the system so you know what your doing. Ask a lot of questions to make sure everything is right even if you have small doubt, now that you got a plan all you have to do is execute it. :captain:

Hey, thanks man.

But for everyone else, After reading this I am planning on a single 18 and an AudioQue 2200D. Would a DC Lvl 4 XL do fine? Yes I will have the electrical to back it up. And I'll make sure its clean power
