12" SI Mag review

Recommended Posts

I just wanted to take a sec to thank Nick and everyone else accociated with Stereo Integrity. You guys make a great product for an excellent price.

I have installed the mag in a temporary install. After breaking it in lastnight it was put into a 1.7cu.ft. sealed enclosure(before sub displacement). I am running a memphis 1000d to it.

Going from 2 subs to one I will admit I lost some output, BUT, and I mean but, what I lost in output I drastically gained in low end extention and accuracy. Which is fine to me. I have ear problems anyways. Now in total I have about 1 hour listening time on it due to and unexpected amp problem (for some reason the amp goes into thermal protection. This is wired at both 4 and 1 ohm loads, and absolutly zero gain). I am ready to get this amp or even another in working order to further review this magnificent subwoofer.

This is just a quick update. I will be adding to this when my amplifier problems are solved.

Thanks again guys,

-Justin

That's odd with the amp. Good luck fixing it. I'm in a similar boat.

I really think the new MAGs are just going to demolish the previous versions in all aspects.

Damn that SI logo is sexy on the boob cone. ;)

Thanks for the quick review! Get back to us on how the driver performs the more you listen to it.

Small update. In the temp box with ~300 watts the mag pulled a 136.7@36hz on the TL lastnight. Mind you that this is sealed, little power and a bad tone/music CD.

Still, deciding on the next box.

On music, she just keeps getting better :D I really need to fix the amp though. I guess KB it is. Now to find a temp amp to have daily bass.

One of these will easily hit 140 in a daily install, it was atleast as loud as the LI 12 Noah hit the 140 with, in the exact same box.

Shouldn't be a problem as long as you're careful.

What kind of car, is it a hatchback?

I see your from Texas, I might head out to Dallas once I finish school. I think it would fit my lifestyle better than CA. Funny I've lived in CA my whole life, but can't take the housing prices, traffic and environmental insanity (have to waste a lot of gas getting to a location where you can ride a dirtbike legally).

Anyway awesome review. I'm still in the break in process so I have a little while before I get to know my 15". I'm running it sealed as well. I've always been a sealed fan and probably always will be. I listen to too wide a range of music to use anything else.

Its a regular cab truck. Texas is nice...at times. I am now without and amp :( I need ti find a 300-600 rms replacement. Well, maybe not, the amp should only be out a week.

I'll make you a smokin deal on a RF POWER 451S. It doesn't have the endcaps, but it's spotless and will put out 500@ 4 ohms. If you want, I can send it out tomorrow for you to use temporarily and if you like it, we'll deal.
