Hifonics XX - Olympus

Recommended Posts

Got her in today, this is the biggest 4 channel amp Maxxsonics makes I believe. 4x250w @ 1ohm. Or 2x500w bridged! This thing retails $1300 and isn't a cheap amp by any means! I also wanted to play with the close up on my camera some..so thats why so many pics :D

Still smaller than my Kicker KX800.4... :P

Looks like you'll get a ton of power outta that beast, though!

um no,

This amp is bigger in size, has a larger freq response, higher freq range on both high and low pass, and lower THD rating then the KX800.4.

I currently have the RF Power series coax. I'm thinking of adding the RF 6.5 component set...they look pretty nice. I still haven't decided.

I never knew smaller measurements meant it was bigger... ;)

Olym.: 11.10"x2.75"x20.86"

KX: 25-3/4"W x 2-5/8"H x 10-1/4"D

"Larger" freq. response doesn't matter...can you detect sound higher than 20kHz? Or lower than 20Hz on your components?

XOs don't much matter to me as I'm active.

Do you believe you're going to tell a difference of 0.06% between two amps? Hehehehe...

What did you pick it up for anyways?

Have fun with your amp, though...tons of power. :D

With End Caps

Hifonics

Dimensions

Width 26.52 in.

Depth 11.28 in.

Height 2.68 in.

Kicker

Width 10.13 in.

Depth 25.75 in.

Height 2.5 in.

You said yours was "bigger" I was just stating that this amp is bigger in physical size, and has slightly more power.

Kicker:400 watts RMS x 2 in bridged mode

Hifonics: 500 watts RMS x 2 in bridged mode

Hifonics is also 1ohm stable.

It was bought from Maxxsonics, so I can't discuss pricing.

The endcaps are over 6" wide?! Wow...

That's the advertised power for the KX, but they are underrated...birthsheets show power to be in the 960-980W range with all channels driven at 2ohm.

By any chance does the Olym. come with a birthsheet?

1ohm stable is nice, but who uses an A/B 4ch to power subwoofers?

I meant to say subs. I still can't edit posts on this site... I dont understand.

Bottom line, the Olympus really is bigger...I've made my point and I'm done arguing about it.

That's what I figured.

The edit button is on the bottom right hand corner of your posts.

Hahaha, you're way too easy to get going... :domoslay:
