FI Q Cooling option

Recommended Posts

I am ordering an FI Q 12" and have all the options selected, the only one I don't know if I should get for sure is the "Cooling" option. I'm sure it would be better getting it than not, but are there ne disadvantages to it? Such as harder for my amp to push? Thanks

It says the "Cooling" option for the FI Q will up the power handling 200-500 watts. Is that just because of the cooling making it so it can run cooler in turn letting take more power or does the cooling make it harder to push the sub in tern would I need more power to push it with the cooling option. I want to get it if it just allows it to take more power because it runs cooler, but not if it make the actual sub harder for my amp to push. Thanks

Also does ne one know if the "I Heat Ring" would be worth it. It says it helps the overall transient response and will hit a little higher frequencies with it. But I don't know if that'd make it have less sound quality or better?

Cooling does what it says, it cools the coil much more efficiently because there are vents machined into the motor
