I'll have the sub in 11 cuft net tuned to 17hz with a behringer ep1500 lowpassed at 35hz. I'll also have a 18" mach5 IXL in 5.5 cuft net tuned to 35hz on about the same power for music. :)

The Avalanche box will have 1 6" aeroport and the IXL box will have 3 4" round ports.

Well I picked up 10' of 6" pvc and waiting on argent to get a quote for the flares but if I cannot get a quote by next week, I'll just buy them somewhere else.

I may not have two 18s to play with now because after reconing both the 18s, the ixl still had slight rubbing or some type of noise when I pushed down on the cone. I really don't know why. I checked gap and spacing and there was no motor damage so i cannot figure it out.

However, I can always do a 12" build for music if I need more up top from the avalanche.

Nevermind with the IXL. That is out now. But the Avalanche is still going to be used. I may use two 12s for music as well. Depends.

Finally got some birch from lowes, 2 sheets. I'll be doing some work this weekend maybe cutting.

Also, I got a couple of new equipment for the home theater.

Mitsubishi HC3800 1080P projector, about 100ft of 22gauge monoprice HDMI cable with a repeater, and some stretch spandex to make a screen.

Sounds like a nice setup. I should be picking up an epson 8100 this week and starting on my 110" home theater setup.

Do you have a winisd file for the avalanche 18? If so can you email it to me? I just found an avalanche 18 reconed for sale and would like to see how it models before I negotiate price. Something close to what your planning sounds like what I want. Except I want it to play a little higher. Like up to 60 hz.

Why not just use a port plug and make it pull double duty. Two subs in one room is just complicating things.

Its not too complicated and I wanna keep the output down low as well. But, really right now, I don't care about the music range yet. This setup is dominated by movies.

Handles on both sides. :) Terminal box on the back. I still got some more bracing and open cell foam on the walls.

Phi, great looking box so far. Really nice to see someone actually use bracing techniques :)

You won't gain anything by doing that. A LLT will play music just fine and rock on movies.

Thanks, man.

Well, I talked to some guys over on the hometheatershack site and supposedly the open cell foams are not recommended anymore. I bought them a long time ago and was going to use it for my home theater box, but now I guess I'm going to keep it in the corner of the garage lol.

I have some bad news. I somehow cut my pieces all wrong and now I don't have the volume that I wanted before. I'm down to about 10.5 cubes net and can possibly get about 19hz tuning. I didn't want to redo because this has been a good amount of work that I actually had time for. I am going to listen to this and see how it goes. I'll then add about 5lbs of Polyfill to the box, and then "try" to hear a difference. If there's not a difference then I either take it out or leave it until I need the polyfill for another box. hehe.

I have a semi circle brace left (two halves) and then I gotta cut port to length. I probably won't have progress for two weeks after this because it will be the end of the semester and finals will be starting.

I haven't made my screen yet and I need to but right now its just a sheet hung up. I'll get pictures of the projector and the screen setup when I get it done. I'm going to try to do it during the winter break.

What do you guys think I should have as a finish on the box?

Maybe something to match the furniture in your room?

Gloss black?

Bummer on the cuts. What were you originally shooting for? Thought about removing some port area to compensate to lower the tuning further? It will hurt you at high levels but not at lower.
