How many cubic feet of airspace is your box? Port width and height?

OK heres the deal, the box isn't made yet. That is the info I need to know, what size and what port deminsions, all I know is it;

1.NEEDS TO FIT UNDER THE BACK SEAT OF A 2002 GMC SIERRA EXT. CAB

2.I WANT IT TO BE TUNED TO 30-31 HZ

3.I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT I'M DOING AND AM USING A SHOP TO BUILD THE BOX

4.I'VE NEVER HAD A CUSTOM BUILD PORTED BOX MADE, I USUALLY USE SEALED BOXES

5.IT WILL BE HOLD 1 SSA DCON 12" DUAL 4OHM SUBWOOFER

anything else that needs to be known???

Unless you can give the maximum dimensions you have in your truck, it is impossible to tell you what you are asking.

Yes, port length is what tunes your enclosure, but the port also takes up box volume. There is no set length that = 31hz. That is enclosure dependent.

Time to get out your tape and go measure bro. That is the only way anyone can help.

IF YOUR USING A SHOP THEY SHOULD BE ABLE TO CALCULATE PORT LENGTH FOR YOUR ENCLOSURE!

He's got a program for it, but he needs the sub to hook it up to and it's been two weeks since I ordered the sub and it still isn't in yet. :suicide-santa:

Can't they take the T/S specs off the SSA website and calculate? You may want to think about going sealed.

Yeah, I dont understand why they need the woofer. All the info is listed in the shop for them.

That sounds like a bunch of bullshit to me. You are in LA, why dont you hit up Quentin at Audible Customs for a box. He does not need the sub to build the box. lol

Edit to add Argent has been pounding out some nice ones too. Hit them up.

Do that ! Look at their forum here, they both have their prices listed.

They really know what they're doing, not like your shop !! :(

They make fantastic enclosures!!!

You don't need the sub to figure out port specs. The woofer has nothing to do with how a box is tuned.

He tried to get the T/S specs off the net, but his computer at the shop sucks, so he told me not to worry, he would look them up at home and build the box Mon.

Thank you all sooo much for your help, its been raining down here for like 4 days and I think I was just getting stir crazy, lol.
