Securing down my enclosure ?

Recommended Posts

So I was wondering what is the best way to secure an enclosure in a car ? Preferably not permanent, but so it can't be stolen or so it won't slide around.

It's a 9cuft box, and its going in the back of my Jeep Cherokee.

yeah, look for factory bolts to use if you want to return it to stock later on. for example, my xterra had some cargo hooks bolted to the floor. i took them out and went to napa to get longer replacement bolts. then it was just a matter of drilling the box and installing the longer bolts with some large washers.

L brackets would do it. Attach to the box then the trunk floor.

Yea I was recommended those by someone else. Might go with those. Straight bolts might be easier though.

in my trunk i just used velcro (hook side) on the bottom of the box. stuck to the carpet pretty well..

edit: just read your putting it in a Cherokee so skip the velcro.. nothing to stop box from flying around in that vehicle beside bolting that thing down

b4 i put my sub in the box i drilled about 8-10 holes in the bottom of my box then used some self tapping screws straight thru the floor.......i was gonna do brackets then decided on this cause any random thief w/ a screw driver can undo the brackets.....so with box bolted to floor and allen head bolts and t-nuts me sub is secure. the most they cold do is trash my sub but thats wut recones r for lol
