Fi comparison

Recommended Posts

i am a proud bl owner....the q is one of the best SQ drivers i have ever seen.....but honestly i wouldent give up my bl's for anything they also have a decent SQ and more than enough spl.....but either sub will only get as loud as you will risk....i have gone around 140 db. termlab with my bl 12's i can alot more out of them...just scared to blow burn or break anything...

and plus 140 is good enough for me

depends on the boxs for each bruh...but i have heard the x and the q.....the x that i heard was not a low as the q that i heard.....also the q is cleaner.......as far as how loud....i did not see them on the termlab but they seem to be about the same......i would go with the q all the way....1 its a fi product and when it comes to subs they kill alpine....and 2 if you ask me the only things alpine makes well are full range and amps...

Thanks. How about BL's? How much louder is the BL than the Q, and how much cleaner is the Q? Which would you rather have?

the type x sounded like a hyped up type r...but thats how i see it......

i mean alpine makes good amps and full range...but alpine subs are not on the level of fi's products..

the bl kills every alpine sub i have ever heard....only subs i have heard that i liked more...would be the soundstream xxx the fi btl or nightshades..

i know there are others out there...these are just the ones i know......

i would go with the bl bro...i have 2 bl's and they are clean low and loud...i have heard both type r and type x....bl all the way

Well i'm running on a powerbass ASA 1500.1Dx, 4 awg wire, shuriken battery in the back. its a 2000 ford taurus so I have a lot of trunk space and i would get a custom box. I've currently got 2 10" type R's, but ill have to upgrade eventually because they are being overpowered and i am trying to decide which way to go

Thanks, what do type x's sound like? in comparison to type r and bl? does the bl hit you in the chest?

Tell us what you need ? Your goal for your system ?

What music do you listen to? What car is it going in ? Electrical,...etc

What amp do you have, or can you get ?

If you want more help, tell us more !

I have a PowerBass ASA 1500.1Dx, in a 2000 ford taurus 24v with the 130 amp alternator and a run of 4 gauge. I've got a second shuriken battery in the back, and currently 2 type r 10's. Will upgrading to 2 fi Qs give me much SPL over what I already have? I like a lot of rap, and recently Young Jeezy. i want it as loud as i can while still sounding clean

There is no need to go with a BL or Q with that amp unless you plan to buy another shortly down the road.

With 1500 watts you'd be fine with a pair of SSD's.

Can you describe the enclosure the R's are in now?

I have owned type-r, type-x, and BL 12's. The type-x sounds better and a bit louder than the type-R, but I gave it twice the power I was giving a type-r so it should be louder. The type-x sounds better in a sealed box than ported, though good in both. It sounds a bit more accurate than the BL, but the difference is not that audible when comparing both in a ported box. The BL handles quite a bit more power still sounds very good while getting louder to the ear at least. Obviously two subs on the same power will be louder than one unless you make a good enough enclosure to make up for double the cone area. Maybe you could fit one large BL and save some money on buying two subs? It would just be a waste of sub to spend the money on 2 bls and give them the power one can handle.

If you can't give them rated power I'd just save your money and stick with what you have until you can upgrade your power wire and an amp that does 2000+ watts.
