I dont think no one ever is...I say once you hit 150+, you've made it. I know I wasn't satisfied with the 145.5 we measured in my car...

Once you get some batts, a HO alt, and a LOT of deadner, I bet you'll add a couple decibels.

I'd have to say yes I am happy with my scores, however, I know I can get better. Every time I get in the lanes, it's not to win against the other guy, it's to beat my best score. I am my only opponent

The only time I have ever been TRULY happy was when I pulled a 145.1 and beat a guy with a wall. 4 iCON's, one generic Kinetic up front, a Sundown 3k, no sound deadener, and no alt or big 3.

Spanked him good, and got the trophy. Other than that..............my scores have not impressed me.

i dont like metered on the dash because it's not reality.. it's kinda like cheating yourself.

We always meter at the headrest.. it's where you will hear it at...

It's harder to get loud there but goes to show how much u know about getting loud there.

Without a meter, u will never help yourself get louder.

Also, sealed vs outlaw can change your peak note in the vehicle.

Well considering 'at the headrest' is done on the PASSENGER seat that wouldn't be what YOU (the vehicle owner) consider reality but what your PASSENGERS consider reality.

I prefer dash because it is widely considered to be the accepted standard, and it is a more rigid standard than seat.

??? no it's not.

In MECA, ALL classes except Radical(which is on the dash) can be measured on the driver side headrest.

It is the user's choice and experience to know what side of their car is louder.

also, in Amateur Street, you can ONLY measure on the driver side headrest.

I tell people alot that no one can compare one sanction's scores to MECA because MECA measures in reality SPL and is a LOT harder to get loud.

so when you see someone doin mid 50s on the dash... don't be surprised if they can barely surpass a 50 at the headrest since that's where all the "demos" are done u see online.

What many people think they are hearing isn't as loud as you think :)

Even though i could only do a max of a 153.4 at the head, i was easily breaking 157s in the kick. The windshield isn't too far off from the kick but since windshield's note is a LOT higher than that at the headrest, it's easier to get loud there.

I'm never happy with my scores...

if I was then I wouldn't be a very good competitor..

on the head to the dash... I like the dash because it's easier (testing and whatnot)... however I do like the low notes it takes to post a big number at the head..

**I compete in MECA

Are you high? Or do you consider 2 or 3 db difference to be 'not too far off'? There is a HUGE difference between the kick and the windshield in 90% of vehicles. And they headrest may be 'harder' but I have seen ample people who can do amazing numbers at both locations.

Point here is I prefer the dash, you prefer the headrest. Everyone has their idealistic spots and ways to measure, and to each their own.

My personal best with my truck is 137.7 at 32htz with 2 Exodus Shiva 12s (8 ohm mono)in the old box. New box best is 136.4 at 28 htz. Thats with a pair of Iso-Kit 10s(8 ohm mono). DBs went down, BUT sounds ALOT better for SQ. I'm very happy with that.

Maybe in another life I'll get me a vehicle that will do a 150 or better. My Boys want me to build them a ground pounder. I told them they need to get them a job and SHOW ME THE MONEY !! :drink40:
