QUITE pricy, but memphis makes excellent amps had a few

http://www.dealercostcaraudio.com/memphis16-mc11500.aspx

they are underrated a bit, but for the price id look into a saz1500

Yeah. I was also thinking about exile but I can't seem to find a price and they are only sold in Canada and a few other select places.

How does memphis do at low voltage compared to sundown? Also in efficiency? Out of curiosity, not much experience with memphis.

is that a tricky question lol? memphis does NOT compare with sundown at low voltage.

and i mean by power and by burning up.

i do like memphis but their low voltage protection is not very good. i saw 1 run off a battery (not mine lol) it cut off once and i told my buddy to turn it off, he didnt listen, well we smelled something burning i knew what it was, and it burnt some mosfets

i tried to warn him the first time it cutt off, but it shouldve stayed in protection though

Memphis may be pricy buy I feel as if they make a very good amp. Infact I just got a sundown 125.2 for a friends truck. My nissan has a memphis PR200.2. I put the sundown amp in to try it out since it gets so much hype. tuned it and it was good nice amp. Re installed the memphis and tuned. memphis amp had better SQ IMO and got louder. I had 3 people there and we all agreed. The PR200.2 is rated 25 watts less than the sundown @ 4 ohm. Both priced simular.

I had a MCD1500 at one time to. Nice Amp, but if you plan on buying online you might as well as buy it used. No warranty for online purchases. Save your self a lil money.

Memphis has always made a great amp. Stick with an authorized dealer when buying as it will have a warranty.

You shouldn't run any amp at low voltages. If you have a problem with that, fix it.

thats why my prd1000 lasted me forever, then i sold it. it never even got warm, and it felt like it was underrted too, i used to have 2 L5 12's and one saw smoke, both hooked up at 1ohm. even though i own sundown now im not gonna say memphis is bad, they still make great amps IMHP
