how much power can i throw at at fully loaded BL 12???

Recommended Posts

i understand this.....i clip at around 75% gain with this deck from what the guy at my local shop told me.....but im not sure how many v my deck is.....i do know its an eclipse avn-7000....

but how would i go about finding out how many v it is?

Depends on the loose nut behind the controls...speakers are stupid and do what you tell them to do.

Having your gain at "50%" means absolutely nothing.

50% and a 5v deck..would mean that you are clipping the immortal hell out of it...

A gain..isn't a volume knob. It should be set once and never touched again.

A volume knob..is a volume knob :)

i know...i understand there are many things that can change the answer....i would just like to know how far other fi bl owners have pushed them in what ever install they may have...

so i have a greater overall unsterstanding of the sub and what it can do....when installed right....or wrong.....i myself am happy with the 140 db. im getting out of mine and would only take it past that if i had too....comp....out bump a JL...beat up my car...ect ect...

Short term burps vs daily music is quite different! Tone vs dynamic! I would say in a burp application maybe twice the rated rms and on music stay within what Fi recommends. But really is a hard question to answer as all installs differ greatly.

Obviously you dont understand because you keep asking the same question and people have given you the answer for three pages so far. It wont matter to you at all, it is to many factors to equate to worry about what someone ran on there subs. It will come down to goals, box size, listening habits (everybody's is different), electrical you have and so on.

The way to tell what your subs can handle is to test them and let us know how they react on the Crescendo and if you want to know if they can handle more power in your application then go buy a bigger amp (which is not recommended). If your looking for more output then maybe you need to step up in woofer class as well and get you some BTL's.

this type of thing makes me feel like you have failed to understand what im asking...you can not judge a product based upon one man's install....as i have said i am more than happy with mine.....my goal was 140 db. i got there... game over for me....what i wanted to know...and what i asked is what the most the people of fi have seen run on a bl 12 IN THE BEST CONDITIONS MEANING NOT MINE...THE BEST....THE HIGHEST NUMBER OF WATTS AN ONWER HAS RAN>>>WITH NO PROBLEMS.........my install aside..and my questions about the crescendo audio has been answered very well.....this is not about that.... :peepwall:

You just dont get out answers, your still asking the same questions to get the same answers from us. Nobody is judging anything, regardless what someone will tell you is irrelevant. There is one user who used a Sundown SAZ-3000D on his, there are probably others who went with less power and got better numbers then you or went with more power and eventually killed the sub. Basically it is useful information thats all, but hey good luck on what information your looking for out of this thread.

ya i mean great answers really.....anything from 1 watt to 1 billion.....puts pinky to lip*....

these subs are sick man......lol :suicide-santa:

how can we know where we are going...if we dont know where we have been :captain: ?????

and i know for a fact you can get more out of these subs in other installs....thats not what im asking either.......wtf is DR phil when you need him....

i want the testimony of bl owners and what they did with their sub or subs....not a bunch of crap about how it depends on the install....that is not irrelevant...

due to the fact that all info could aid me or others in furture installs......i want to kow the whole town...not just my street....

Well would it say that the BL is weak compared to the SSDs if my two 10" SSDs on 2k did 144s over your 140 on 3k? No, its all install. That is 80% of the outcome. I gained 2dB by just moving my box around and pointing the sub and port in a different direction.

Sorry to say but your question is useless and will lead to nothing.

I don't think the guy is really looking for answers but really just wants to know of other peoples experience. Now that can't hurt at all.
