Anyone use a Eclipse cd8053

Recommended Posts

I'm a little bit confused about how to wire the RCA's. They have basically 6 sets of preamp outputs with some labeled mid, highs but also some sets labeled positive and negative. The manual isn't too detailed about using the pro setup except to connect all of them. I am going to be running tweets and mids up front and mids in the back. Plus a sub(which it has 2 pairs of outputs to as well for some reason). I will post some pix if necessary. Thanks for any help you guys can provide. I'm trying to get this done tomorrow as i will be working til 10 pm tonight.

Well, mid and high are obviously for your mids and highs.

But 6 sets seems a bit odd, thats 12 speakers. No way someone needs that many.

My original idea was that it would allow someone to xover the rear and front mid and tweets and as for the subs, i have no idea what two sets would be for. Most of the ones I have dealt with have 3 sets and that's why i am a bit confused as to how to connect em.

Thats very odd. The Clarion DRZ9255 has 8 sets of RCA's but they are dual function

4V/8-Channel Gold-Plated Line Level Outputs (for SW/L/M/H or Front 2-Way/Rear/SW) With OFC Cables

You have two sets so that you can have the balanced 16v preouts ;)

I used the negative ones on my install.

If you get the balanced line adapter you can use both sets.

Well, it wasn't done today thanks to the stubborn firewall, but all is taken out and put together, ready to go in. except just figured out I was short on a RCA. may have to get one online and see if i can get a cheap grommet as well.

One last quick question about this unit. Where did everyone mount that box that is attached to the HU? What is it for anyways?
