Yeah I looked at that chart. But people are saying to go with like two d3100's in the rear and one small xs batt up front.

D3100 is capable of 5000+ as a secondary battery.. i don't see why you would need TWO of them for a total of 10,000+ if your only running 4k

Unless i'm missing something here... :peepwall:

That's what I thought. See on the first page bassahaulic said

"Since you seem set on Kinetik I would do an 1800 up front and at LEAST 2 2400's in rear. "

And the 2nd post also said 2-3 batts.

Was just gonna get a d3400 up front and a d3100 in the rear. And the 220a alt. At Idle puts out 206 amps. Thought that would be good enough but many are saying two in the back.

IIRC the 2400's are good for 2400wrms each. The D3100 is good for 5000+

Different batteries, different capabilities.

I'm looking at the AH on both batts and the Kinetik 2400 has 128AH and the XS D3100 has 110AH. It seems like the Kinetik would be better. But the XS handles the wattage better?

You guys think I should get some fatmat rattletrap deadening? Only my spoiler vibrates bad. I was thinking of putting a strip of weather stripping between it and the window to make it stop. I was gonna get 100 sqft but when sealed up right now you can't really hear it anyway. 2009 caliber srt4.

Stay away from FatMat...

If you're looking for cheaper deadener, check out RAAMAudio. But really, SecondSkin is where its at.

You guys check out the fatmat? The new one? Not called fatmat anymore really. They just named it Rattle Trap. It's 80mil thick. And sticks more then anything else on the market right now. Rattletrap

The videos on Rattletrap look good on youtube. No rattles at all on the cars. Some before and after vids on there as well. These are customer reviews.

I could get it for about 250 CDN shipped for 100sqft. I don't really feel like paying $200 not shipped just for 36sqft from second skin. I'm in Canada and they want you to go to a dealer to buy it.

And what's your guys opinions of T/A's for a car audio system? My 880PRS has that on it. Changed it around then it made it way quieter and sounded like crap honestly. Not much volume to it. When I increased the inches or cm's. I guess it makes it sound like it's further away from you?

The new Rattletrap still sucks. Just go to SDS and you'll be much happier.

Ok then. So you pay for more quality on the XS Power batts compared to Kinetik.

No. Kinetik batteries are every bit as good quality as Powermaster.

They are both high quality options. I personally prefer Kinetik, and would recommend them every time their product fits the customers need.

Time alignment can be a very useful feature depending on your specific installation and your goals.

You want to delay the speakers closest to you so that the sound from the speakers arrive at the listening position at the same time. This will improve the stereo's staging and imaging as well as general "coherence". But you need to understand how to properly use it to reap it's benefits. Did you follow the instructions in the manual for setting the time alignment?

No I just tried using the time alignment to see what it does.

That was probably the reason for the lackluster results :)

Yeah I know lol. Just did it quick. Then made one side sound lower then the other. Does everyone get better staging with a t/a?

I know I've peen promising a shopping cart for a while now, but I've pretty much decided not to do it. Maybe some day. For one thing, calculating shipping costs is very complicated for these products. It's important to me to just charge you what shipping costs me, so until I can figure out a way to handle that without built in padding, I'd rather do it myself.

Most people have no experience with sound deadening and most of those who do have done things differently. I like to work through your project with you - to make sure you get what you need and understand how to use the products ou buy.

You can ask any questions you may have (including where to start) or place an order by e-mailing me with a list of what you need. I'll calculate shipping and you can pay through PayPal or with a credit card. Thanks very much for your patience.

Used correctly and in stereo systems that can properly benefit from time alignment generally yes, it will improve imaging and staging. There are some obstacles that it can not and will not overcome, but it will help improve what it is intended to improve upon.....time arrival differences between speakers.

Oh, and +1 to getting your sound deadening products from Don @ SDS. If you have questions about how much to purchase, what products fit your needs, where to install it, etc, be sure to ask him as he will point you in the right direction for meeting your needs and what to expect without all of the marketing BS others will give you.

Yeah it's good priced product from Dom. I just don't know if I'll get it in time. Need everything before June 12th. The sound off date. I ordered my XS Power batts today. I got a whole bunch of stuff being shipped to me right now. Hopefully it gets here in time. Like my wire from Knu and alt from iraggi. Those items are furthest away from me.

How do I do the t/a. My deck manual just says use the mic. Which you buy separately. I could adjust it manually. So first off. I pick inches or centimeters? Then which side do I add to?

I'm guessing the left side since it's closer to you. And how do you figure out how many inches to put on there.

Really need to know much more about your stereo before we can assist you in setting time alignment.

What speakers are installed, and where are they installed at?

Got them installed in the doors. Tweeter and mid. The component set is the ppi 356CS. My gto75.4ii is bridged giving 284watts rms per door. Not the whole power though. I just go to where it sounds the best and mids don't max out.
