Sealing rear vents on a tahoe..

So i've been doing some reading and I'd like to seal the rear vents in my '06 tahoe. I've never worked with sound dampener before but I think that's the best route to go..Any suggestions as to what I need to buy or the best way to do this?

I have a 2000 gmc jimmy has the vents aswell not the same ones but I just loaded all that area in the rear cargo area with foam. Like around the wheel wells and the hatch. Worked for me.

permanent or temp?

you can easily use expanding foam.

But with sealing those vents, they're there for a reason, to relieve pressure.

I'd prefer temporary but something that will hold up for quite awhile...Isn't pressure escaping from the rear (where the subs are) a bad thing? Standing near the vents with my subs on now, it sounds pretty bad also. I read on some forum that it makes it harder or changes the way the doors open, which makes sense I guess..

The foam isn't visible it would all be hiddin by interior pieces.

Like expanding spray foam. Lowes or a place like that would sell it. I think wal mart sells it aswell.

I don't ever remembering a difference with the doors but I know it doesn't rattle as much anymore lol. And you don't here those vents slapping.

All I did was use some foam I found on a construction job site, it was light, open cell foam and it stopped it from vibrating. I have the 04, I would assume they are the same.

I used Ensolite foam I had left over from sealing my doors on the back side of the vents. It had no ill effects and it stopped that damn fart sound coming from the vents. It is worth it just to stop that!

It's to relieve pressure when you shut your doors, etc so it doesn't bust things like windows, etc.
