Did I damage my Amplifier?

I just recently sent my subwoofer out to be repaired. I have 2 amps in my car 1 Boston for my speakers and 1 hifonics Brutus 1610 d class amp. I was playing music through my speakers but I didn't realize my Brutus RCA cables were still plugged in and it is getting power. Have I damaged my amp by playing music with no woofer hooked up the past few days?

Pop out the fuse before something does happen.

If you have any extra subwoofers lying around try 1 and see if the amp still works.

If they did touch together, you probably would have noticed the smoke rolling out of the amp, haha. I've been down that road.

oh really haha ya the RCA cables are unplugged now but I won't be able to find a sub to test on till tomorrow. There was also like 6 or 7 metal screws that were holding the woofer in that were rolling around loose in the box with the wires. Hopefully no damage done. What should I look for when I test it? If it powers the sub is that good enough or should I get it bench tested at my local car audio store to be safe because the warranty is up at the end of this month.

i had a memphis prd 1000.1 long time ago and the wires ACCIDENTALLY touched. that was just a quick huge blue spark, but the amp was fine, although they just toughed like a tenth of a second, if your wires was toughing the whole time i really dont know, dout it would be good news though, id just try any sub just to see if its ok, and then uninstall the amp till u ready for subs again

I don't think just unhooking the RCA's is good enough, there is still probably power running to the outputs if you are putting power into it... I'd pull the fuses like suggested before.

99/100 times your amp will not go up in smoke if the speaker wires touch each other, the amp goes into protect mode as if it was a speaker short or to low of a resistance. But you need to cover them, tape them off or something. I made my sub box removable because when I go to the In-laws I need the space under the rear bench seat, so what I do is I put the speaker wire terminals in a plastic baseball card case that hold 50 cards and I have a switch in line of the remote wire to the sub amp. This way, if I switch the amp off via the remote wire, if it accidentally gets switch back on, my speaker wires are still separated and isolated.

I guess I'm in the 1% then, because I had a Memphis two channel that I hooked up to an enclosure I was going to buy, and the dude had two twelves wired together, except he had the positives and negatives hooked together. I was stupid for not checking it. Before I could turn it off smoke literally rolled out of my amp.
