I have not tried it, but afew reviews have not been all that stellar, I would run an RL-p or PB PR for less money

From what I've heard, they're great for SQ but not so much for SPL ...

No personal experience, though, so take that w/ a grain of salt ...

Decent performing drivers, but for the money, they arent worth it...

I do in fact have a better solution, buy my RL-Ps.. ;)

ive heard the subwoofers and 6.5components. the sub produces really tight bass, something like the MTX 7500+, but they can hold the lower notes better. Compared to the new Type Rs though, Type Xs dont hit the lows as hard. The owner of the alpine shop here actually prefers those Xs in sealed enclosures.

as far as the components go, i personally like them a lot after hearing it on the board. the mids are smooth and the highs are not too harsh. im gonna pick me up a pair sometime in the near future.

My buddy has one in his s-10 w/ an mtx 1501d @ 2ohms, ported. Hits pretty damn hard, harder then his sealed 12L5's on the same amp. Low notes dont hit quite as hard but youll have that in an ext cab truck (less transfer function) with the sub right behind you.
