I have 1000+ watts on my 15d2 and it's pretty perfect. so if you'd do that you'd need a 1000 watt @ 1 ohm amp for one sub, 2000 watts @ 2 ohms amp for two subs.

Your enclosure is going to be the largest determining factor on power handling. Typically a larger enclosure, vented or sealed, will yield greater efficiency and require less power. This will also decrease the powerhandling of the driver due to the airspring on the suspension. Thermal and mechanical powerhandling are two different things and should be treated as such. I'll let Nick reply with all the specifics as he is the most knowledgeable and the only person with any real time and experience with the new drivers.

With the previous drivers, I've had excellent output with as little as 300 watts. Many use 1200+. There really is no need for all this power. Use what you need and no more. If you get tremendous output with 500 watts, why strain your equipment by using more. This just increases your chances for problems. If SPL is your goal, which in your other post it doesn't seem so, then you have a whole other issue. LLoyd would be the man to talk to on that angle.
