No. The Deka goes in the trunk. In the right side of my box in the back is a battery compartment. I have an interstate megatron up front. I got it from a guy in kentucky. I don't remember his name. He runs a small shop and bought a pallet of "blem" 9a31 deka batteries. I'll see if I can find his email. I think the batt was 110 but shipping was 65 since i live in oregon and the batt weighs almost 80lbs. I can get deka batts at a discount from a friend who's a mechanic now.

cant wait to see the woofers in that sexy box!

Here they are when I picked them up from the box builder. He made the flush mount too small and had to open it up, so he installed the subs. Unfortunatly one of them is crooked. This is in the trunk of my gold 95 eldo.

Right now the box is out and I'm sanding and painting the flush baffle black. There isn't enough white showing to look decent. So it's going to be black like the port. I'll even put both subs in straight, unlike my box builder.

Here's a pic of the back of the box. I'm going to put two small braces, one across the top and one behind the battery to secure it. And keep it from moving around. And the amps will go on top of the box. So when you look in the trunk, all you'll see is a box with 2-10's. No second batt, or amps. I'm looking for some nice grills that wont take away from the look, but will protect the subs, so I can still use the trunk.

I got an autopage alarm with remote start installed on Wednesday. Damn it's nice. Especially since the low tonight is 17 degrees and I get off work at 4 am. I also think the guy that installed the alarm is gonna do some fiberglass dash pods for my highs. Hopefully soon I can make some progress.

I ordered my Deka intimidator 9a78dt front battery, smaller serpentine belt and alternator underdrive pulley today. I also put the 240 amp guts in a spare alt to test them out. Hopefully it's right this time. It worked intermittently before. It turned out that the 240 amp stator was 1/8" thicker and it wasnt keeping the brushes lined up properly with the armature. So I put two washers that equal 1/8" under the brushes before I bolted them down to shim them into position. I'll take it to my buddies shop next weekend and change out the alt, do the big 3 in 1/0, and put in the Deka starting battery. I also put up an enclosed carport so I can work on the car when it's raining. Which is all the time during spring in Oregon. So I can finally start making progress on the install.

I did some measuring today and it looks like I can fit a 15" sub in my trunk. Which is what I really wanted in the first place. But to make it all fit, I think I'd have to lose my spare and put my amps in the spare tire well. I'm thinking a sundown Z15v2 in 3-3.5 cu ft ported with a 6" aeroport tuned to 32. So I think when I set everything up, I'm going to put my amps in the well to simplify the change later down the road.

I also installed some 55w 6000k hid lowbeams. They are sweet.

I'm also thinking about getting a dual 1 ohm sub so I can run the saz-1500d at .5 ohm daily with the gain turned down. And be able to turn it up for burps. I think my electrical should be sufficient to support it. A Deka 9a78dt up front, a Deka 9a31 in the trunk, a 240 amp alt, big three in 1/0, 1/0 from front batt to back batt, and a stinger volt gauge to monitor voltage drop. I'll also be running an mb quart dsc4125 active to my 8 ohm mids and highs. I'll be using the cca 1/0 wire from knuconceptz and fusing for 250 amps.

Why not run the 1500 @ 1 ohm and set the gain accordingly?

More power. I'm not running a huge front stage. So it'll be turned down most of the time. But I'd like to see what I can get spl wise down the road. And more power generally equals a higher number. And the amp used to be warrentied to .5 ohm so I know it'll take it. If you can burp a 3000d on your electrical at 1 ohm, then a 1500d on the electrical I'm putting in should be fine to burp on .5 ohm as long as I watch my voltage drop.

All my parts are in. And it's going up on the lift on sunday. So Sunday night I should be able to mark the big 3, HO alt, new Deka front batt, overdrive pulley for alt, new smaller serpentine belt and water pump belt off my list. I also contacted Don at SDS for some butyl rope, mlv, and ccf which will go in when I run all the wires for the system.

It's always nice to be able to mark things of the list when the list is so long...Don't forget the pics!!

I won't. That's something I'm trying to work on. I always forget to stop and take pics while I'm working.

I got the alt, new serp, water pump belt, front Deka and big 3 in today. Here are some pics. With the new stator being 1/8" wider. We had to trim 1/8" off the rear alt bracket to make it fit. I have 14.4-14.5 volts at idle with all the acc running including both seat heaters, hvac, radio, and headlights.

Nice. You shouldn't have any trouble finding one down there. You might look in Vegas as well. I found a couple really nice low mileage ones there, that might be worth a trip. Cheap plane ticket, night at the casino and a road trip.

Soon, I have about 60 sq ft of audiowrap to use. I'm waiting to hear back from Don at SDS for his opinion on the MLV and CCF I've found, before i order it. But in the mean time, I think stripping the trunk and deadening it will be first. Maybe this week, now that I have a carport.
