how to set up a test bench

i want to have a test bench that i can test subs and amps and speakers on maybe even one that i can test how many true rms watts an amps is i have an extra head unit and some speakers i can hook up and a couple amps that need testing i just dont want to pull out my system to test them. how would i go about setting up a test bench? what do i need to set it up if someone has one can you take a video of it and show how you hooked yours up? please and thank you

Power supply, DMM, clamp meter, osscilliscope, tone generator, dummy loads (high power resistors).

if u want a bench to test amp output.. u need 12v batteries, not a power supply. Power supply that large would be in the thousands of dollars.

U will need a battery charger and the thing that sucks is u will be testing off battery only so the voltage will not be that great on large amps.

oldskool, can you elaborate a bit? high power resistors? what are those and how do they work, also i can imagine what a tone generator is and would do.. but never seen one. Any links? im guessing power supply would be a battery

maybe get 2-dmm's so you can measure both current and impedance or voltage at the same time that way you can find the output of the amp(s)

I did this back in the day it was pretty fun. i tested an 1000rms amp and i paided about 120$ for the resistive load i used wire wound resistors! I know wire wound aren't good b/c the impedance will change as you increase the frequency but i was at 50hz so it was all good! llol!

and yes i used an oscope! and function generator!

other then that the amp got like 1150~ i forget the name of the amp but it was sure fun times!!
