I should have no problems with BASS. :D

But I`m worried about Mid Bass - punchyness.

I do not want to use huge door builds & they will never sound right anyway.

:idiot: So I plan to use 4x 10" or 8" subs. To help the system sound better / seem more punchy - quick

I`ll be feeding them about 250wrms each.

So should I do this or what`s the best way to do it?

BTW: I`m aiming for the system to play music @ 150dB+

16 Cu.Ft. Box. Ported using 4x S.I. 15" Magnums.

Thanks guys.

A pair of 8" drivers should be plenty. Now you'll want to find a set of drivers that will be optimal to your application. Assuming you want to use your doors as an enclosure only, I would suggest looking into a pair or Kicker RMB8s. These might be hard to find as they don't make them any longer. However, they have a new 6" and 8" midbass available in the SS series. I have used the RMB8s many times before and they are excellent drivers.

Better yet, seeing as how you're in the UK, why don't you list some drivers that you have access to.

x2

even the 6.5's in that line would be a start...(and i know where there is at least a pair of those for sale)

have u thought about doing a pair of kickpanels? several people here have done those sealed and really picked up on their midbass response.....

wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee :slayer:

:D

Hmm.

I have a 6.5" speaker in the door & one in the footwell.

However the footwell one was just chucked in & is not sealed properly

The one in the door doesn`t sound good either.

I`ll mess about with trying to seal each of these units & see what difference it may make.

If all goes well I may think about upgrading the 6.5" drivers.

Otherwise I`ll make a small ported box which fits under the front seats for the 8" subs.

The sub will fire upwards & the ports will fire directly into the front of the car. I`ll be doing it this way, in an attempt to keep the sound stage in the front of the car rather than in the rear.

Thanks guys :fing34:

:D Hmm. Another option.

I`ve got a 3way set up in my other car, Vauxhall Sri (do you have these in the U.S.?)

They do sound quite good. Got no subwoofer installed in it yet, though.
