As of now I have the back and front baffle glued to the bottom the ports glued the the interior middle baffle ready for thos to be glued together the top baffle is all ready with the circle and ports cut out. I should get the middle baffles glued together and put in the box today and the interior left and right baffles set inside the box. If everything goes right I should be done tomorrow.=)

WTF?????? No bro!!!! not if they are correctly put in!

i.e. proper sized pilot holes and accurate drilling.

I'd bet you anything my seems are going to be stronger than yours!

I'd even meet you half way to prove it! LOL

Lol well I'll try it this time and if it doesn't work then I'll go back to the screw and pre drill method. Lol. Also remember the every baffle except the bottom and the port walls are doubled up. If this doesn't work then I'm giving up lol.

Made some progress today. All i have left to do is glue the left outer baffle and top on along with some caulking, sanding, round overs and put my 45's in.

nor have i bro, on my builds, i believe mikey might have glued some dusty joints at the weakest part of his box..... just bad luck, and believe me, the kid could write a book on that one, however......

his builds are typically large and powerful, holding up to the pressure fine.....

i believe he will have this one done this weekend....

hope to hear it soon.

The box looks stout as fuck.

My dad aways told me when I was growing up that glue was strongest, screws next, nails last. Not that what my dad said means a fuck, BUT I do agree.fing34.gif

I'm not sure if it will be done in time for the evansville show. As of now it looks as if I have many more hours of sanding and I have to wait for the top baffle's to dry to the box whenever I get it glued. I'll be up all night trying to get it done and then wake up at 4 a.m.? Ummm idk lol to jay I did screw some double baffles together to close some gaps and to j roadtatts yes it is very damn stout if this mutha ******* falls apart I will be amazed. I'm waitin on jordan(jdawg22) to get here so I can double team on the sanding and maybe get it done quicker but as it looks now I won't be able to make it to the show tomorrow. =(

I've always used just clue, clamps, and and finishing nails to hold the panels till they dry. The glue holds the enclosure together not the screws and nails.

x2 except I use drywall screws as they are cheaper. Have you actually ever tried to tear a box down? The screws just pull out. The seams never breaks with TITEBOND glue. The wood breaks where the glue stopped seeping in before the seams and corners. My home theater box was 11 cubes and it was screwless. Took longer because I had to use batteries and clamps to hold it tight together for the glue to dry. Screwing makes putting panels together faster.

mikey, you should of seen Tru!, shut down completly, ftl!

(cruising spot in Indy)

i like the approach of the double baffle and interlocking 90's.....gues that is a good term for them.....

perhaps if one was so inclined to use a mechanical fastner for additional strentgh i would suggest 90' angles with holes predrilled in them....

interior as well as exterior..... opposing screw pattern...... this combined with internal 45's and internal braceing would be the strongest approach.

i have taken screwed and brad nailed boxes apart to find splits in the wood.....even ones that were carefully pre-drilled, in mdf, not so much in birch.

mikey, what are you sanding on?

sorta got me lost on that one.....

never the less you have bad ass milwauki saw, a $200 jig saw, a tuff little router.............

and then there is your sander!

i am quite sure the Smithsonian muesem would put you through college if you would retire it to thier collection!

fellas no lie, it runs of of coal and steam power!

my orbital tooth brush could give it a run for it's money mikey!

lol

get over here early tomorrow, i want o get these builds done bro.....
