as long as the steering column is a fixed one, and there is that 'shaft' inside it. you are fine. i usually look to put them right where you have yours.

Depends on the vehicle. I make them as inaccessible as possible.

If you brain is not as inaccessable as possible why even bother with an alarm. What kinda car do you have.

Take your car to the average installer and they will just throw it up under the dash however they see fit. So why do most people even bother?

I like to take a little extra effort to confuse the potential thief if they gain entry and hopefully frustrate the hell out fo them by not being able to find anything. 99% are going straight under the dash on the drivers side looking for the brain.

yep, and they leave a huge rats nest of wires under your dash :ready2go:

I try to put the brainbox anywhere but under the dash. I've hidden them under the seat (mostly back seat since they bolt down) and in the center consoles. All the wiring is pretty much hidden with split loom tubing.

I am paying for the install so I talked to them about where it could be installed and told them where I wanted it. I'm paying so they need to do what I want. As for most people...well most people are idiots or just nieve. But I know how easy it is to disable an alarm so I am gonna make it a big enough PITA that they move on to the next car or get the workout of a lifetime.

That's what it's all about. I figure, if they really want in or to take the car, they'll get it. Whatever I can do to slow them down, I will. :fing34: BTW, Mine is behind the rear seat panel and cannot be accessed without tearing half of the interior apart.

When I finally get my Impala I am gonna get a lockable metal electical box and mount it to the rear deck, along with the remote battery. Then my dual ported enclosure, which will also be bolted to the rear deck will be covering all access. If they are lazy they'll move on, if not hopefully I will delay them enough for the coppers....or maybe.....wit da, wit da, boom ping ping....
