8 12s, 6 15s, or 4 18

Recommended Posts

like the title says im planing my new setup and im thinkin either 8 assassin 12s, 6 arsenal15s, or 4 chaos18s. its gonna be for demos and fun not for numbers so if i port its gonna be low and sealed is even a possibility. i have a lil over 30cuft to play with, more if i get creative. electrical is covered im looking to give each sub rms power. im goin for the wow factor. basicly the question is which do you think would be more bad ass to see lol.

all opinions are welcome

I think 6 15's would be the most port area= the loudest.

And not a lot of people use 6 15's in their car.

im sorry for the lak of info i was in a hurry when i posted this and i forgot about the thread a week has gone by and im leaning more in the direction of the 8 12s.i figued i could do the 8 assassins on one 20.1 like i said once before im not looking to put up numbers or anything. im thinkin a sealed clamshell or diamond type wall not sure tho i know i dont want just a regular flat wall. its gonna be in the back seat area of a 2001 grand marquis. any suggestions

forger cone area, go with the option with the most motor.

Cone area doesnt help in competition... Pressure is pressure and motor helps more than cone area... proven and proven the more i go to shows...

im not gonna be competing but i understand what your saying. i was also thinking 4 caos 15 or 18s in small version of a diamond just to be different

My astro was 6 15's. That would get my vote.

6 15" chaos if you could fit it into your budget. Even with 4-500 watts each, you get the benefit of the added mechanical power handling if you are trying to build a low end monster.

That's freakin insane. Crazy to me I guess cuz I've never seen anything more than a 2 sub setup. But any of those options seem rediculous. Must be deep into the car audio crack world I assume. If I had the choice though, I'd go with the 15's because 15's are the sexiest size in the sub world.

lol welcome to car audio. I suggest you NOT to look in the threads in Build Logs here at SSA, you may have a heath attack.

lol just j/k.

One more vote for 6 15's.

man you are from FL you dont have to look hard to find somebody with a large setup. and yes 15s are sexy as hell. but i think if i do the 15s they will have to be sealed size constraints cause i want to build it with out destroying the car and i want to at least be able to remove the front seats and pull it out. i know it sounds weird but im sure its possible

I would do (4) 15's ported over (6) 15's sealed.

(4) 15" Chaos on a AQ2200 would be nice. (4) Havoc 15's on a AQ3500.1 would be nicer. smile.gif

I have run (4) 15's in 11.8 cuft tuned to 34 Hz and peaked over 157 dB @ 37 Hz.

Sold the vehicle at 138,000 miles and it had no issues from the loud stereo installed. . . :)

Bought (2) more 40.1's and (2) more mayhems and put it all in an Astro.
