suggestion on a new amp

Recommended Posts

ok so i have 2 dc level 4 15" with the level 5 dual 1 ohm coils and they are rated 1500 a piece and im only pushing one hifonics bxi2010d (its max is 2000 at 1 ohm) to them so i know its not nearly enough power that they can handle and i know that the amp prob isn't putting out 2000 at 1 ohm. My question is should i get another hifonics bxi2010d and run one amp to each sub or should i look into something like sundown? like their 3500d or something like that???

thanks in advance for the help??

well, if you have the budget for a sundown GO for it for sure. Their amps are of a much higher quality than hifonics. and their numbers are on a 12v so you will most likely observe higher numbers. If i were you, i would keep my eye on www.db-r.com for a refurbished saz-3000. Well, that IS what I did but our set-ups are completely different. If I were you, i would sell that HiFonics and get the sundown.

But the most important question is what you're budget is.

No its rms wattage is 2000 rms @ 1 ohm, dont refer to max on equipment.

It wouldnt really make any sense to run each amp to each sub considering your subs are dual 1 ohms, you either need an amp with a 1 ohm final load with the power you need or two amps with the power you need at 2 ohms. You should look for something within your budget and power needed for your application. If you look at the Sundown SAZ-3500D, then you will need to look for a used one with a budget like that.

Its rms period is 2000 watts (dont use max at all, it confuses things).

If your stuck on Sundown, with that budget you will have to buy used:

What electrical upgrades have you done or do you plan on doing?

You're not going to have good results w/ 3.5kw on a stock electrical system, if you haven't upgraded anything yet. If you have, it would be helpful to know what your upgrades have been.

Well if money is tight, then it would be more wise to purchase the alt and batts first instead of an amp that will tax your electrical even more.

I was looking at this one. Looks good internally. 2 year warranty, .5 ohm rated

Appears to be a good bang for the buck and would be on my list if I was looking.

$550.00
