enclosure for two sa-12's

Recommended Posts

The image shows the dimensions, I would like black carpet. I sent you a pm about this a couple days ago and you were saying something about flush mount being an issue due to the one length

designg.jpg

How much would this cost?

thanks

Ok since the drawing is sort of basic I just want to confirm a few things.

Subs up, port up?

Black carpet.

Are those the max dimensions you can work with?

Also how many cubs did you want? I see you want about 33Hz tuning.

yes subs up, port up.

These are the max dimensions except for the 19", lets change the 19" to 21"

So the displacement would be 4.72548cubes

4.72 - port displacement - subs displacement(0.28) - bracing = ~4-4.4cubes?

I'm guessing net displacement could be around 4 to 4.4cubes if we change the 19" to 21"

Hows that sound?

4-4.4 cubes is too much for the SA 12's as Jacob recommends 1.75 per sub. (If I understood you correctly on wanting 4+ cubes).

I came up with:

3.5 cubes tuned to 33hz

3.5 air space

.28 sub disp

.077 bracing

Double baffle

21 x 14 x 36 (is it possible to squeeze one more inch out of the width?)

The sides are indented .75 inches.

Instead of 21, could we change it to 22 and make the 36 back to 35? There going to be upfiring so I have the most space going up (if that makes sense :P)

Of course :)

I think the Jeep are like the Tahoe's. Back seats are about 22-23 inches tall so I know exactly what you mean...

Give me 5 min to adjust the design.

Ok so it looks like its going to be more like 24ish rather than 19. If you want to get closer back to that 19 number we can reduce the amount of air space by a little.

Could you do like 22"?

Ok I think I found our solution

14 x 22 x 33.5

3.25 cubes net tuned to 33Hz

12.5 x 3.5 port opening

.28 disp

.077 bracing

3.25 air space

I can try and up the air space a little to get closer to the 3.5 cubes.

33hz will be tuned for some spl but not a fart box, right?

Ok I was able to redo the design a bit :)

14 x 22 x 35.375

I was able to fit the full 3.5 cubes SA recommends.

3.5 @ 33Hz

3.5 air space

.28 sub disp

.077 bracing

3.75 x 12.5 port area = 13.4 sq in of port per cube

How does this sound?

35hz or higher will generally yield higher SPL numbers. 33hz - 30hz will be great for daily ground pounding.
