Fi ssd Recone question

Recommended Posts

I have 2 Fi ssd 12's that gave up on me finally. I was wondering what would be the best way to get them reconed? I have a Memphit The Mojo MC200D Amp it is 2000X1 at 2 ohm rms. Would I want to get the dual 2ohm or the dual 1ohm to run to this amp?

You want them to be D2 ohms so you can get a 2 ohm final load:

I would not want to get the dual one ohm and wire them down to 2 ohm each and run them respectivley to the - + - + on th amp. the amp is wierd to me it says it does 2000 rms at 2 ohm x1 but i don't see why there would be 4 spots to put speaker wire.

If you get dual 1 ohm speakers and wire both of them to two ohms at put them on the amp like that then the amp will drop the ohm load down to 1 ohms and you will mess your amp up more than likely.

It is 2000w x 1 @ 2 ohms, the reason for the extra speaker terminal is for simplicity of wiring among other things. It is still a one channel amp, just has two sets of terminals for the speaker wire to go.

You could get the Dual 2 ohm subwoofers and instead of wiring them together then you can wire them individually in series to see a 4 ohm load. Send each speaker wire to its own set of terminals and the amp itself will drop them down to 2 ohms for you:
